Welcome to the West Wales Cricket Association web site. It is part of the Play-Cricket network. ========================================================== ENTERING RESULTS All clubs seem to have complied last week with the requirement of the HOME team to enter the match results, including notification that the match has been called off. One area that has not been a 100% success is the need for BOTH teams to confirm the result. This is done by your website administrator in the "Results" page. A tick appears that you agree with the information, otherwise a cross remains. If there is a dispute then it should be reported to Peter Barker, Fixture Sec., immediately.
NEW SEASON / NEW RULES Now the new season is about to start (after last week's wahout), it's time to remember two changes to the rules, agreed at the A.G.M. RULE 23 has been changed, to amand the way of communicating the results (or non-results) of each match. All results must still be phoned through to the Results Secretary, Peter Barker. The match results for Saturday matches must to be given to Peter by 10:30am on the Sunday following. The Sunday game results must be reported by 10:30pm on that same day.Instead of sending copies of the scoresheets to Peter, it is the responsibility of the HOME club, to record the details of the games on THEIR OWN play-cricket website by the Wednesday immediately following the game. All results and details will automatically appear on this wwalesca.play-cricket.com website. Here the away team must veryfy the result on the website by the Friday of the same week. Failure to comply with the above procedure will result in the deduction of two points for each offence. The names of all participants in the game must be recorded. If a player's name is omitted, he/she will be deemed not to have played in the game. RULE 28 has been added. This confirms that in addition to the requirement of Rule 8b, there is a choice of what balls may be used. The home team must produce, before the toss of a coin, either a new ball which can be used for BOTH innings OR a good standard ball for EACH innings. The away team will have first choice of the ball with which they wish to bowl. ========================================================== HANDBOOKS The League Handbooks were distributed to all clubs who attended the April Magement meeting . On;y two clubs were not present - Cowbridge and Ynysygerwn. These clubs must ensure that they make arrangements to collect the handboo;s from the Secretary as soon as possible. =========================================================
